Balas Rose is a unisex rose scent that mixes floral, fruity and woody sides. It is richer and moodier than a typical garden rose, with a velvety, slightly leathery feel.
It opens with rose, saffron and raspberry, bright and a little juicy but with spice underneath. The heart brings suede, jasmine and vanilla, which add softness and a warm, creamy texture. The dry-down settles on cedar wood, musk and birch wood, giving the rose a smoky, grounded finish.
It suits cooler days, evenings and anyone who wants a rose that does not read as sweet or powdery. Rose and suede combinations can be polarizing, so a decant is a smart start: wear it for a week before committing to a full bottle.
